Pavane (Pa-VAHN) and Galliard was formed by song writing team, Jared Hooker and Lauren Habenicht in the summer of 2008. With the addition of drummer Ben Falcon and Bassist Rip Nolan in 2009, they became a four piece.

Both Ben and Lauren are graduates of the Music program at UNCA, while Jared is currently working on his degree, in vocal performance, in the same program. Rip completed his Master’s degree in classical performance at the NC School of the Arts.

The name Pavane and Galliard comes from a dance pair from the French Renaissance.
The Pavane: a slow, stately dance in duple meter, which is usually followed by the Galliard.
The Galliard: a fast, leaping dance in triple meter.

The North Carolina native band, Cool Kid Collective, is a rock, acoustic, hip hop band who are currently blowing up the airwaves. This amazing band consist of Matt Bowen (guitar, vocals), Frankie Goodrich (guitar, vocals, beat boxing), and J.D. Leath (percussion and vocals). The trio came together back in August of 2008, but has quickly built an amazing following . They consistently draw huge crowds to both their club and venue shows along with numerous high profile private parties, festivals, private showcases and events. The band spent 2009 touring the East and West Coast on their first ever nationwide tour. Also released in 2009 was their debut album, “Bad Decisions Good Stories” which was released in the beginning of 2009 and has been a major hit. It can be found on iTunes and other major digital media outlets. The guys have been in numerous bands prior to the Cool Kid Collective project including, but not limited to, O. Period, Kepteclectic, Shemoan, and Rare Breed to name a few. They have also collectively opened for such acts as Busta Rhymes, Incubus, Hed(pe), Rehab, Ben Harper, Bone Thugs N’ Harmony, and Corey Smith. Cool Kid Collective is currently in the studio recording a new album due out by Spring of 2010. They will also be playing venues all across the nation so please stay tuned to their websites for further details and locations. Bracing for Impact is a 4 piece pop-punk/punk band from Rock Hill, SC. Playing constantly between Rock Hill and Charlotte and with the release of their newly recorded demo, they have jumped onto the scene and letting it be known they are here to stay and will play anywhere, anytime. With influences like Screeching Weasel and The Beach Boys there sing-along melodies and punk rock guitars bring together a poppy rockin sound not heard by many pop punk acts these days.

We continue our Ladies Lounge series this month with our spotlight on female DJs and Electronica artists by showcasing a new up and coming talent, Serenity, who will be making her debut performance tomorrow night at The Hookah Bar. She will be spinning old school vinyl drum and bass selections.

Also playing tomorrow night is Ottomatix (drum and bass) and Miah (electro-house)

$3 cover and half priced hookahs all night for the ladies.
